Winter may be coming, but our thoughts are still with Summer. Among them being the debut collection from Kim Jones, in collaboration with artist Kaws, for Dior’s summer show for men, it’s hard to believe that was four months ago! But the fun doesn’t end there, there’s a campaign too.
The campaign, shot by legendary fashion photographer Steven Meisel, featured a couple of contrasting images, the first showing lighter, more formal garments, including the stripped suit modelled by Prince Nikolai of Denmark, who opened the show in June. The other image is showing more relaxed garments like a bold printed jumper, and leisurewear pieces in black.
Also featuring in the campaign is a certain 33 foot sculpture we saw towering over the summer event in June. Created by American artist Brian Donnelly, who may be better know as kaws, the sculpture is made up of an impressive 70,000 flowers.
Talking about campaign Jones explains “I wanted the advertising to reflect the spirit of the men’s summer show and the beauty of Dior,” and goes on to talk about working with artist Kaws, saying “I’ve always wanted to work with Kaws, I think he’s super chic and also his work speaks to a lot of people.”
Hold the tricks, you’re in for a treat, as the campaign video is expected to air on October 31st, so keep your eyes peeled. The Collection itself is also expected to launch in December.
